bookworm

I have a confession, I’ve been reading instead of stamping! 😆

I got The Host just before Mother’s Day and finally had time to sit and read. I finished it yesterday and really enjoyed it!

I used to read quite a bit, so I’m happy to have a couple more “must reads” coming out in the next few months. I’ll be getting Breaking Dawn, the fourth book in the Twilight series when it comes out. I seriously can’t wait to pick that one up!

Then I’ll be getting Brisinger! I’ll have to read that one fast, since I’ve gotten my Mother-in-Law and one of my Brothers-in-Law reading this series, too.

What are you reading right now? I’m in a big reading mood and I’d love to hear some suggestions. I like to read fantasy books, but I also like to read classics. Good adventure, low key on the “adult” situations, and something that is a good page turner! 😀

I love reading too… I was just asking a friend if she had read the Meyer series. I am glad to hear they are that good. Currently I am reading Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz. Pretty good so far…

I recently discovered Stephanie Meyer (I read all three books in the Twilight series over 5 days) and am SO looking forward to Breaking Dawn when it comes out in August. Did you enjoy The Host? It sounds like a good read!

I also love to re-read the Harry Potter series (and will especially love getting my two boys into it eventually).

Well, I’m a bit embarrassed to admit it but you know those Christian romance books that come free in the mail? I just read that. It was SO nice to sit down and read something that was for pure fun! Next up is a book that I won from my friends blog called Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury. I love Karen’s books so I know that will will go fast and then I will donate them both to my church’s library. Have a super day Emily!

  4. Quit reading and start stamping! LOL — kidding! I used to be the biggest reader before I became obsessed… amazon.com is sure missing me. Anyway, I’m reading “The Long Road Home” by Martha Raddatz — it’s an account of soldiers and there families about what happened in Sadr City (Iraq) on what’s now called Black Sunday. I don’t really know any military families, and it’s been really eye-opening. The sacrifice these families make… I’m reading it for a mini-bookclub some friends and I have started. Anyway, happy Thursday!

Oh, and if you’ve never read “A Prayer for Owen Meany” by John Irving, you MUST. My all-time favorite book!

  5. I have really enjoyed reading the books by Brandon Sanderson’s books. My husband and I have read the first two of his in his series and are waiting for the third to come out in paperback in early June. The first is called Elantris and the second is called Mistborn. He is the author that Robert Jordan picked to finish his The Wheel of Time series after he died – if you didn’t know already. Anyway, maybe you haven’t read them. They’re fairly easy reads that you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy.

  8. Hmm…I’ll have to look into that one! I am reading Randy Alcorn’s Deadline. I have read several other WONDERFUL books by him (Safely Home, Dominion, Lord Foulgrin’s Letters…all must-reads) and I’m enjoying this new one right now! If I only could carve out a little more time to read….

I haven’t picked up The Host yet because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read a book about aliens. But I’ve only heard good reviews, so I will probably go pick it up sometime soon. I just re-read Eclipse yesterday & can’t wait for the next book out. AND the movie! I’ve also read a lot of Pride & Prejudice “continuation” stories recently. Some are pretty good & some are awful. One book I’ve read recently for the first time is The Count of Monte Cristo. The full version with over 2000 pages. It was great!

Hi, I have read the Twilight series, twice. Can’t wait til August 2 for the next one. Recently I have been reading Philippa Gregory, who wrote The Other Boleyn Girl. There are 5 books around the theme of King Henry VIII and his many wives. I just finished The Queens Fool and I just loved it. You should try these books out 🙂

So maybe you’ve talked me into starting the Twilight series. I wasn’t sure I wanted to start something that is supposedly keyed toward young adults (seeing as how I’m close to ancient now!).
I’ve just finished reading the 8th book in the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris. OMG! If you love fantasy, a little mystery and lots of humor, you’ll love these books!
