more papertrey
I made this card a last week for Sketch Challenge 159 and Color Challenge 149 at Splitcoaststampers, I just haven’t uploaded it yet. This card uses the PaperTrey set Text Boxed.
For the focal image, I inked it up in Apricot Appeal then stippled some Rose Red on the image before stamping. This is kind of like the Rock ‘n Roll technique, but lets you have more control of where the second color goes. I then stamped the outline in Sage Shadow on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut it out with scallop scissors. The middle of the sunflower was also stamped on a separate piece of cardstock and then punched out. I then layered the piece with foam tape between the layers for added dimension. Stickles was then applied to the flower and Crystal Effects was used on the flower center.
I wanted to use my sewing machine since I haven’t used it on a card for a long time. I also busted out my Cuttlebug for some embossing! I really like the look of tone on tone stamping paired with the dry embossing. I then applied some Stickles to the flower centers for extra sparkle. I tied some white grosgrain around the card and stamped the “hello” sentiment just above the Sage Shadow layer.
Hope you all have a great weekend! It’s been raining over here all week, and I do like the weather change. I’m glad my boys are off-track so we can stay cozy in our home! 🙂

I love the tone-on-tone with the embossing as well … very rich and beautiful.
The shading on the card is very nice! I do agree with you about the tone-on-tone stamping with embossing — it looks great! Jeanne
