Here are some pictures of the new chicks we got this weekend. We got them a week younger than we did the first three and just loved their little chick fuzziness! They were so sweet! I would hold one and pet it, then watch it drift off to sleep in my hand. It is quite a cute site to watch a baby chick nod off. They are already getting in their wing feathers and growing quickly.

Domino will grow up to be white with black spots. It took me about the whole day to think of a name for her. At first I wanted it to be something California related and then I started joking with my brother about naming the chick something like Sparky since it would be Damlation like in markings. That’s when the name Domino hit me, and being James Bond fans it made it a good match.

Nugget is quite a pretty chick with all her markings and shades of color. This one is considered Don’s and he came up with the name. He was actually referencing to her being a Golden Laced breed, not a chicken nugget! 😆

So now we have five, which is the max we can have in our zone. The two little ones are adjusting nicely and fortunately have each other to hang with. The other three are a little “bossy” but Betsy seems to be taking the best care of them. Don spied this yesterday evening:

Doesn’t that just warm your heart? Besty is being a little Mama to Domino, keeping her all snuggly warm under her wing. I later saw MeMe snuggling Nugget by her side, but didn’t get a picture.

WoW = World of Warcraft. LOL. I have a geeky 20 YO brother… who insists that he’s not a WoW geek… he plays the *other* geeky game (don’t know the name, though!) Anyway, cute chick photos. Can’t wait to see more!
