sweet cocoa

This is the second card I did for the swap I participated in that Jami hosted. I really love the set So Very, mostly because it helps me make quick and “clean” cards.

For the focal image I started by stamping “so very” in Cool Caribbean on WW cardstock and punched the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch. I then stamped the mug from Like it a Latte in Cool Caribbean on CC cardstock and cut it out. I used my Craft Knife to carefully cut out the spot inside the handle since I wanted to add some ribbon to it later. I then inked up “sweet” in Basic Black and stamped it on the mug. The foam was stamped with Cool Caribben on WW and cut out.

For the next step, I put the mug and foam on the card without adhering it so I could gage where I needed to stamp the steam. I then stamped the steam with VersaMark (making sure to use my Embossing Buddy first) and then used Iradescent Ice Embossing Powder. It’s a little hard to catch the sparkle in the picture; in real life it stands out much better without being over the top glittery.

I then added some black gingham to the mug handle and adhered the mug and foam with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The focal image is then matted on Basic Black and adhered to the card base which is Cool Caribbean.

How very delightful this card is! And the colors! I like the change from the pinks/browns/etc that I’ve seen used with this set – you’ve given me a whole new perspective on Like It a Latte!
    Thanks for sharing!

This was one of my favorites of the swaps that I saw at Jami’s! I love sparkly steam and the bow around the cup handle is just the right little touch!

I LOVE this card – I hope you don’t mind but I CASE-d it (changed the color combo and didn’t do any embossing) for a w/s I *just* got back from – I wanted to ask you first if it was ok but I saw this an hour before I had to leave and it was PERFECT as I was stuck on one last card for them to do!! LOL
