le twit

This is another one of those ideas that stuck with me, and when I finally got it done I was quite pleased with the result! I later found out that Johanna meant the “le twit” to sound as if the bird was saying “tweet” in French. I took a totally different way, focusing on the word “twit” and found it hilarious! I tend to be rather sarcastic, so this sentiment had me busting up from the start.

The card base is So Saffron, and is a top folding card. The striped patterned paper is called “me & my sister” stripe/blue paper by wild asparagus. This paper has a wonderful texture and I love the distressed marks that are already on it! I then cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie and used my Stampin’ Up! Slit Punch to make the huge scallops, then used my Crop-a-Dial to punch the holes.

Next, I stamped the darling Little Al in Palette Noir Black on WW cardstock. I made a light pencil line so that they would be fairly lined up and erased it when I was done. Then I stamped the Propeller Hat on the selected owl and stamped le twit above him. Images were then colored in with Prismacolors. Stickles were added to the propeller hat to add more fun to the card.

I then adhered the patterned paper to the So Saffron base. Cut an extra strip of Pumpkin Pie to frame the top of the focal image, adhered the strip and the scallops to the focal image, then adhered the completed focal image to the card.

This would be a cute card to send for a belated birthday or to say sorry. All images are by justjohanna.

Too funny! I would have thought “twit” and not “tweet” as well! Great card!

Oh, and I have a question…how does the Palette Noir Black Ink compare to Stazon & SU!’s Basic Black??
