So, what do you do

when you don’t go to bed and it’s two hours before you were supposed to wake up? I was working on a project, and before I knew it it was already 4:30 AM! Since my alarm goes off at 6:45, I figured there was really no point in going to bed. Instead I made two quick cards and then took a long hot shower!

What made these cards doable that late/early is that they are simple line images. They are by Great Impressions and are grouped with the Stamp of the Month that they offer. You can check out at their site by state to see if a stamp store near you offers this program.

I stamped the images using Palette Noir Black on Shimmer White Cardstock. They are not cut to be your average sized card, and right now I can’t even remember what I cut them at! All I know is that completed size is 4 1/4 x 3 3/4.

After stamping the images, I colored them in with my Watercolor Wonder Crayons and an Aquapainter. I kept the colors simple because I was lucky I even knew what colors I was using. On the snowman and penguin card I used a stardust green pen for some sparkle, I also highlighted some spots on the tree and the button. On the reindeer one, I use the stardust pen on the bells and then added a red rhinestone for the nose. Some quick doodling completes the images.

I then stamped the snowflake from Cold Play with White StazOn for the transparency overlays. Given more thought, I would have been careful with my snowflake placement and avoided covering up faces. The overlays are held on with the ribbons.

Glad to know I’m not the only one who stays up late stamping! Love the cards!

Yup, done that before but I would have tried for the couple of hours of sleep anyways. Of course, I’m *way* older than you. 🙂
Gotta admit, great works of art comes from late night stamping and you proved it again! These are the cutest! TFS!

These are so sweet! I get up in the middle of the night and make cards too, it is better than staring at the ceiling.
