During the time I was a VSN Hostess, we had a fun program going on behind the scenes. We had Secret Pixies! It was fun to get to know another SCSer, find goodies to send to her and make cards for her!

Here is the first card I sent to jstarbright. I went over her list of favorites to come up with this card. She had pink as her favorite color and Looks Like Spring as one of her favorite stamp sets. I had not used this set for a very long time, so it was fun to use it again!

The card base is Pretty in Pink. I used computer paper to mask off the top part of the card, then stamped the dotted argyle pattern in Regal Rose. Then the flower trio was stamped over that in Pretty in Pink. The next step was to get the focal image ready.

I stamped the big flower using the Rock and Roll technique. First I inked the flower up in Pretty in Pink, then rolled the outside edges in Regal Rose. Stamped it on Whisper White and trimed it out. The middle flower was stamped in Regal Rose, then punched out with the fabulous matching punch! I then punched a circle out of Whisper White with my Marvy Mega Circle Punch, lined up the flowers and pierced the middle with the piercing tool from the Crafter’s Tool Kit. I added the big pink sparkly brad from Autumn Leaves for the finishing touch. My Marvey Giga Scalloped Circle Punch was used on Regal Rose cardstock for the focal image mat.

As I was working on the card, I wanted to add a fun cut to the bottom. Usually I’ll just use some scallop scissors for a decorative bottom edge, but in this case it would not match the card. So I simply took my Paper Snips (I love these scissors!) and I followed the outline created from the stamped image to get the fun decorative bottom. I then roughed it up a bit to match the worn look of the flowers. This made the focal image seem to crisp, so I roughed up the edges of the scalloped mat and made sure to curve up the petals of the flowers for more dimension.

I then tied some pink sparkly organdy ribbon around the card base and knotted it. I love this ribbon! I got it on a trip to Fabric Barn earlier this year. I was lucky enough to find it in pink, purple and silver! The focal image was adhered with Dimensionals, and the word “sparkle” from the stamp set Warm Words was stamped in Basic Black.
