Over at SCS there is an event put on by the members of the community that is called Virtual Stamp Night (VSN). This, along with Virtual Scrapbooking Night (VSBN), is a fun way to get together as a community, participate in challenges and stamp! Each VSN has several challenges that restrict/include what you can use for each card, but the real challenge is to complete your card in the allotted time – 45 minutes for each challenge!! For each round of VSN there are two coordinators and a slew of hostesses! The coordinators really put a lot of work in to promoting the next VSN, picking a theme for the VSN night, selecting the hostesses, approving of their challenges, and organizing the schedule. The hostesses get the fun job of thinking of a challenge, and once it is approved, we do a write up and make samples that we won’t share until the time of our challenge!

This time around I was able to be a hostess again! I love hostessing because I get to think of a challenge and see what the participants come up with! There is a TON of talent at SCS, so to give these stampers a challenge and see the results is a real treat! The theme for the next VSN is Home for the Holiday, and while VSN isn’t until next weekend (November 10 – 11) I got to be a SURPRISE and offer a pre-VSN challenge!

Every March 26th is “Make-up your own holiday day!” So for one whole day you really could have your own holiday! The possibilities are only limited to your imagination! My surprise Holiday Pixie challenge for you is to make a card that represents what your holiday would be! Is your favorite color blue? Make it Blue Day! Do you love eating sushi? Make it Sushi Day! Inside jokes also make great holidays, and that is what inspired this Holiday card!

Card base is Bashful Blue stamped with circles from Simply Circles in Bashful Blue for the tone-on-tone look. The focal image of yummy cupcakes is from Lockhart and it stamped with Palette Noir Black ink on Shimmery White Cardstock! The majority of the 45 minutes for this challenge was spent in coloring the main image and adding doodles to embellish the focal image. By giving the card a simple card base, I was able to spend time coloring to get a focal image with POP! The cute rhinestones are from A Muse and were added to create sparkling cherries on top of the cupcakes! Yummy! The focal image is then matted on Pretty in Pink which was cut with scallop scissors with pen detail highlighting the scallops. The card is completed by tying some black wide organdy ribbon, adding a small pink safety pin with black gingham ribbon, adhering the focal image with Dimensionals, and handwriting the sentiment to keep the card with the theme of the challenge! Completed card size is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.

This card is for Taylor! We know she likes to eat something cute! Those of you who were at my house that day should all get a chuckle out of this one!!

Something special about this challenge is that it is open until Friday, November 3rd! All you have to do to participate in VSN is be a member of the SCS community! It’s FREE and everyone there is awesome, lots of talented and helpful people! So sign up and join in the fun!

Tomorrow I will share another of my Make Your Own Holiday Day samples!

You stinker!! I ate some cute cupcakes last night after we got done delivering them (had to save some for myself)! I’m sure they were no where near as good as your cupcakes though! This card is adorable. I really like how you doodled around the original stamped frame. I’d have to say that my made up holiday would be HAPPY CUPCAKE DAY! 🙂
