it’s all about the bag!

Today was a fun day! Perrin is back in school full days, so I’m not running around trying to get things done before 12:15. My Sister-in-Law Katie came over today to go over what we need to get to get her started on her wedding album. It was lots of fun to have her over and look thru her pictures again! I was also eager to give her the surprise I had waiting for her in my stamping room!

Last week Michaels had these cute bags on sale. Unfortunately, the one by me has been out of them for months!! Fortunately, I have made some super friends over at SCS, and this time it was Bunny to the rescue!! She found a Michaels by her that was stocked up with these bags! Yeah!! Bunny RULES!! She was able to pick one up for me, one for something special, and one for my Sister-in-Law!

I had so much fun decorating this bag for Katie with cute ribbons and decided that I needed to make a tag to go with it! I used the big circle from Stampin’ Up!’s On Board Accents and the “K” from Stampin’ Up!’s On Board Simon Lower chipboard collections. The paper on the circle is from the Rebecca Designer Paper pack from Stampin’ Up!, there is some faux stitching on the circle and it is completed with a flower brad thru the hole at the top.

I tinted some white acrylic paint with Regal Rose re-inker and painted the “K”. After it dried I put on a coat of Delta Ceramcoat Sparkle Glaze that Taylor gave to me to try out! WOWIE! That stuff is super sparkly! I love it!! Thanks, Taylor!!! I then took some pink and brown wide gingham ribbon by American Crafts Elements and secured it with a small piece of silver cord at the side. The “K” is finished with a pink and brown Prima flower attached with a brown and white polka dot brad from Queen and Company. The “K” is adhered to the circle with Pop-Up Glue Dots from Stampin’ Up! and brown grosgrain ribbon is used to tie it onto the bag.

Katie loved the bag and is excited to use it to put her supplies in when she come to scrap and stamp at my house! It will be fun to have somebody in my family to paper craft with, and I’m hoping to get my soon-to-be Sister-in-Law over to scrap and stamp with us, too!
