What a goof!

Published by at 1:23 am under stamping

So, because of the way things go, I tend to stamp at night. Sometimes I stamp late at night. It’s when this happens that I goof on my projects! Sometimes I’ll sit there and stare at the project, deciding if I should toss it or try to salvage it. Sometimes there is no question, and it goes directly to the trash! Sometimes it makes the project better!

Tonight I was working on a card and had the layout all figured out in my head (granted, it wasn’t a very complicated layout). My intentions were to make a top folding card. I love the look of these, so away I went and got started. I stamped some stars on a strip of paper, matted it and did some faux stitching. I then adhered that to the card base. I decided to use chipboard so I dyed the paint, painted the chipboard, pierced it for faux stitching, put a layer of sparkly Modge Podge over it and it was too big for a top folding card layout! Dork!

So I flipped the card to be a side folding card and actually really liked the way it turned out! I was able to fit the sentiment on the outside of the card and the placement of the aforementioned strip of stars is one that I would not have originally done, but I really love the look of it!

Tomorrow I plan to take pictures of some of the projects I’ve been working on while Owen is at pre-school.
