and put it in your pocket! I have always loved stars. My Dad took my brother and I to the local Planetarium frequently when we were younger. Astronomy was one of my favorite classes in college (Children’s Literature being the other). The theme for our wedding was stars with the colors royal blue and silver. So when I found this cute stamp with the saying “Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket” by Custer’s Last Stamp, I snatched it up!

I had been waiting to have the chance to make a card with the Love It hostess set from Stampin’ Up! and the saying. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do until I remembered I had the awesome On Board Accents, also from Stampin’ Up! I used my reinkers to tint the white acrylic paint and painted the star. I then pierced the holes for the faux stitching, and then I covered the star with a layer of Sparkle Mod Podge which you can find at your local craft store. I then repierced the holes and used my uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen for the faux stitching.

For the base of the card, I stamped the Crosshatch background stamp and then used the gel pen to make dots on all the meeting points. I stamped the stars using Cool Caribbean, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery on a strip of Shimmery White Cardstock. Then I used my blender pen and color spritzer to spritz Cool Caribben to fill in the space some more. This is a cool tip that was shared by AmyRysavy and can be found here. I then adhered that to a strip of Certainly Celery and did some faux stitching.

Now, this is the card I was talking about last night. The one that I wanted to be a top folding card, only to find that the star was too big to allow the sentiment to be read with the card folding that way. So I flipped it on it’s side and ended up with the stars on the botton and I love the way it looks.
