little bug

We had a busy weekend, getting lots accomplished from our list. We have some fun home projects coming up so we used this weekend to get a good start on laying the ground work with a lot of help from some of my brothers-in-law.

I think the boys had the most fun when Don found some praying mantises (is that the right plural? hehe) in our front yard. They both thought they were cool, but only Owen would hold them. For some reason that kid loves bugs and isn’t afraid to hold them and let them jump on him. As for me, I cringe at the thought of those sticky feet crawling on my hand, even though he looks quite cute sitting atop Owen’s hand and posing for the picture. So when Perrin just admires the bugs from afar, I really don’t blame him.

On another note, did you know that September is National Sewing Month? I just discovered this little fun fact today and I’m quite excited about it. My Sister-in-Law Katie and I have been bitten by the sewing bug, so this will give us some more reasons to get together while the boys are off-track!

Hope you all had a great weekend and I hope to sleep in tomorrow! These crazy kids are actually waking up earlier than they did for school, don’t they understand what bliss sleeping in is while you’re off-track? 😉

Ooooo . . . I’m reading my sewing machine manual and I’d like to learn how to sew. My goals is to make the kids jammies for Christmas. Maybe I can come to your sew party.
