SCSM V

Published by at 9:06 am under SCSM

Wow! The week has flown by for me and I don’t remember being this tired in a long time. 😉

SoCal StampMania (SCSM) was this past Saturday, April 19th, and it was a BLAST! It is such a good feeling to have things run smoothly and get nice feedback on the event. We spend a good eight months planning the event. It’s quite an evolution as it starts with us just figuring out the small details, then during the last five months it really comes together. Fortunately, we work so well as a team that we are able to pull this off each year. 😀

I have to say, that quite possible the biggest reason SCSM is a success each year is highly due to our awesome Volunteers!

If it wasn’t for these ladies (pictured above), I think that the three of us would have been in a padded room a long time ago! When you have a crowd like we did this year (125 people), you really rely on the help of your Volunteers to get the job done! Each one helped with different areas from registering, photography, organizing the door prizes, and with the SCSM Make and Take. We couldn’t thank these ladies enough for all their help during the event!

Another part of SCSM that I really enjoy is getting see and meet all the Splitcoaststampers who come! Several have attended more than on SCSM, and each year we always have some who are new to the event. It is a pleasure to get to see familiar faces and meet new ones!

This year it was fun to have several of the gals that I regularly chat with over at Splitcoast attend the event! A couple of them I finally got to meet for the first time! We are all in different parts of the U.S. so it was a big treat that several were able to come from out of state! We call ourselves HYENas and as you can see below, we can get kinda silly.

By this point in the picture taking, we were getting a little funny. Leslie held that pose for about five photos so I thought it’s be a shame not to post it! LOL!!!! 😆 You can also see Debra’s GINORMOUS name tag!! She even won the prize for favorite name tag at the event, too! I couldn’t help but giggle each time I saw her running around at the event, you seriously can’t miss that name tag!

We were also blessed this year to have several companies sponsor us for the event by donating some AWESOME prizes!! Contacting companies for prizes is one of my jobs each year, so to get a response like this year’s really made it worth the effort! I wanted to take time to thank each sponsor again by posting who donated:

I think I need to volunteer every year. I had such a blast!!! I for sure cannot miss this event each year now. Meeting everyone was definitely the highlight. Thank you for letting me volunteer and be a part of this wonderful event. And wow, my nametag was huge wasn’t it!!!! It didn’t seem so large until I actually put it on.

LOL! Gotta love those crazy pics! Altho I had not a clue what was going on by that point! The whole lack of sleep still has me looking like a zombie! I had a great time and am so glad I came!
