eight is great! and sketch challenge
Happy Leap Year! Today is also my Birthday! I’m a whole eight years old! Woo Hoo!! I have very fond memories of my Leap Year Birthdays growing up. My parents always went out of their way to make my “real” birthdays extra fun with cheesy age themed parties! One hilarious one was when I turned four (16) and we had a Car Rally Scavenger Hunt. Each group had a “four year old brat” stuffed animal to take to favorite local kid places (think Chuck E Cheese) and we had to call up Day Care businesses to get their rates! LOL!
As you get older, and have a family of your own, it gets a little harder to have funny parties, but I’ve been lucky to still have something special on my Birthday. One of my favorite Leap Year Birthdays after I was married was my last one, four years ago. Don and I were able to attend a Lord of the Rings Oscar party that was AWESOME! We got to see many of the actors, Peter Jackson, and many of the people who worked on the movies. This was the year they made the clean sweep! It was so exciting and I introduced Don to Shirley Temples that night.
This year I’m having a slumber party of sorts. I have dubbed it a LANover (Local Area Network). As a confession of my nerdiness, I enjoy playing a “little” online game called World of Warcraft. 😳 Don plays it, too, along with a couple of his co-workers and other friends that we’ve made thru the game. Tonight we have five of them coming over to game all night as my version of a Sleep Over party. Hehe! Then in the morning we’re going to have a super breakfast, complete with waffles! Yum!! But before the party, I get to go shopping with my Mom and hit our local Build-a-Bear to redeem a coupon for a free animal! I’ll to post a picture of what I make later.

I left the sentiment off, since I used so much patterned paper. I love that Jersey Shore designer paper! You don’t even have to piece that! It already looks like you took time to cut the different patterns and mix them up.
Well, I have to get ready to take Owen to school and pick up my Mom to go shopping! Hope you all have a great weekend!
