s.w.a.k. and I’m back!

Published by at 3:57 am under cards, paper crafting

Well, hello!! I’ve been away for a while, kinda gave myself a break. Haven’t really been doing anything exciting, just taking it easy while my boys are off-track. But when I got a call from Lisa asking me to join her S.W.A.K. Down challenge, I knew it was time to get back to blogging! šŸ˜‰ We were challenged to create something using PaperTrey images and her heart template found here: S.W.A.K. – down

I must admit, this little project was a pretty good challenge for me! I started off with high hopes of creating a box to put these in, since I don’t have the heart tins they were designed for. After a good two hours I finished the box and it looked horrid!! So into the trash it went with a big *THUNK*. Alas, I was not meant to design boxes; especially heart shaped ones! šŸ˜†

Here is what I came up with:

I printed out Lisa’s pattern and then traced it onto some PaperTrey white cardstock. I then folded my pattern, traced it onto Pretty in Pink cardstock, cut it out with scallop scissors, and set aside. I then used images from the PaperTrey sets Little Lady and Text Boxed for the front of the card. I used Pink Petunia, Pixie Dust and Midnight Black VersaMagic inks to coordinate with the cardstock. Then I drew the little stems using my Certainly Celery marker, adhered it to the Pretty in Pink scalloped backing, added some yellow bling to the centers of the small fowers, and adhered a bit of pink organdy polka dot ribbon with a mini glue dot to the front.

Here is my little group shot:
