paper toil cupcakes

This was a fun card to do. It used the paper toil technique, you can see how to do it here: paper toil flower

Basically, you stamp your image several times, color them in, then cut them out to create layers for one image. Then you adhere the images with foam tape/dimensionals between each layer to give it dimension. You can have lots of fun trying this technique out on different images.

For the cupcakes, I wanted the frosting to be the highest layer. So I stamped cupcake row on the white panel then I stamped it two additional times on white scraps. I colored in all the images then started to cut out the layers. The cupcakes only have two layers, so for the first layer I cut out the whole cupcake. Then for the second layer I cut out only the frosting tops.

I then adhered the layers to the focal image with foam tape between each one. To help me with positioning the layers, I used my tweezers. This helped me out a lot. Once I had the frosting on top, I applied some liquid applique and used my heat gun.
