berry clear bag

So when the Cricuts were on sale at Michaels a few weeks ago, I finally broke down and got one. I sat in panic for a few hours, wondering if I should keep it or return it. Fortunately the fun ladies in the Cricut thread at Splitcoast told me to open it and let it out of the box! So I took it out and I’m so glad I picked it up! This project uses the giftbg die from the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge at it’s biggest size. My cool thing that I discovered? The Cricut will cut thru transparencies!! YES! Clear boxes GALORE! Ooooo! Can’t tell you how excited I was when it cut thru that transparency!

For this project I used the cute strawberries from the Papertrey Ink set Green Thumb. I really adore this set! I used StazOn Opaque inks for the strawberries along the bottom of the bag. Pink for the berry part and white for the tops. I found that my VersaMagic inks weren’t drying on the transparency, but I’ll be expirementing with that some more. After the images were dry, I folded and scored the sides along the hatch marks to form the bag. Then adhered it with some sticky strip and set aside.

For the focal image I stamped the biggest strawberry using Pixie Dust and Aloe Vera VersaMagic inks that I got from eclectic Paperie. The sentiment was then stamped overlapping the image in Aloe Vera. Stickles were added for the strawberry seeds and Crystal Effects was added for the top. I used my Marvy Scallop Square Punch for the Certainly Celery mat, adhered the focal image and added some dots with my White Gel Pen.

Once the focal image was adhered to the front to the front of the bag, I filled a cello bag with some pink M&Ms and tied it off with this beautiful May Arts ribbon that I got from StarLitStudio. I’ve been hoarding this ribbon and was delighted that the colors went with this beautifully! I used my Cuttlebug to cut the tag and stamped the small strawberry on it. For the word “sweet” I simply inked up “sweet” from the sweet pea sentiment. I added the little row of dots with my Pretty In Pink marker for a finishing touch. The tag is attached to the ribbon with a mini safety pin and a jump ring.
