in the birdhouse

Yucky, pooh! After having fun helping out at the Rubber Stamp Expo this past weekend, I got sick! I’m feeling loads better today. My sinus headache is gone (after three days) and I got some good rest yesterday.

So it’s time for a card! Things have been dead around here! All images from justjohanna.

Card base is Kraft cardstock, cut at 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2 to create this top folding card. I have no idea who the deigner paper is by. The sicker with the price scan on the back just says “Kraft Love Paper Stripe” and “Kraft Love Paper Paisley”. I’m hoping my local scrapbook store still has this paper because I really like it!

I cut a strip of the striped paper and backed it with Cranberry Crisp, then used scallop scissors for the decorative edge and set aside. I cut a panel of the paisely and added a strip of Cranberry Crisp to the bottom. I then added a decorative touch by piercing two rows with my paper piercer and piercing template from Stampin’ Up!. I then adhered the paisley panel and topped it with the striped panel.

I stamped the main image on WW. For this card I chose to use Two-Level Birdhouse image inside Emily’s Oval Large. (Oh yeah! That’s me!!!) I love how the scalloped oval serves as a faux mat because of how well it lines up with the Marvy Giga Scalloped Oval! Isn’t that cool? The birdhouse was colored with Prismacolors and selected areas have Stickles added for some glittery goodness! If you don’t have Stickles, you gotta get some! They do come in many fabulous colors, but I find myself using the Star Dust Stickles all the time. It gives you the same look as SU!’s Dazzling Diamonds. For your enabeling pleasure, here is a link to eclectic paperie, they just got in a TON of Stickles! You know you wanna get some! *wink*

The focal image was then punched out with the Mega Marvy Oval and backed with a Cranberry Crisp scallped oval using the Giga Marvy Scalloped Oval punch. I tied some velvet burgundy/cranberry colored ribbon around the striped panel, then adhered the focal image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I’m headed to the post office today to ship out a bunch of stuff! Thanks to everyone who has bought stamps from me! I still have lots for sale, so send me an email if you want to see my available SU! stamps. I hope to get pictures taken of all the other stuff I’m wanting to move out during this weekend.

Emily, This is a fantastic card. I check your blog often and love your work — esp your the stamps you’ve designed. I was at a LSS today and saw this patterned paper … I’m pretty sure it was made by making memories.
