perrin’s wild valentines

Last night I finished up Perrin’s Valentines. I had fun with the colors on Owen’s, making it more cutesy, because he’s in pre-school and I can get away with it. But Perrin is a big First Grader, don’t cha know! So I wanted to keep away from using any pink on his. Stamp set is Wild About You from Stampin’ Up!.

Sorting out the colors took me a little bit of time. I knew I wanted the bird red. I thought a big red lion would be too much for these, and if I made the area he was standing on red, well, that would be gross! LOL! When I settled on making the lion blue, I was originally going to use Night of Navy. Unfortunately I wasn’t paying attention and I over re-inked it. YUCK! You do not get a good image from an over inked pad. Fortunately, Buckaroo Blue fit the bill quite nicely.

These are basically done the same as the ones for Owen. The major difference in design is the name tag. There are 20 students in Perrin’s class, so they asked us to not include individual names on the Valentines or they would be there all day sorting them out. Perrin was actually glad that he didn’t have to worry about who got what bag.

The base is Old Olive. On WW lion is stamped in Buckaroo Blue, Bird in Real Red, oval from A Muse in Old Olive and the sentiment in Basic Black. Used the new punch coming in the Spring Mini for the tab on the top of the bag, and added the little epoxy heart sticker from Michaels.

Next year I plan to get these done a week in advance! With both of them in school with classes of 20 each, I have to start thinking ahead. *wink*

  2. These are really sweet, too.

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it, but I wanted to say: I love your kid’s names! 🙂

  3. Actually… I think that should be “kids’ names”… ::rolleyes::
